In Don Delillo’s “Underworld,” he described the flow of New York City foot traffic as, “the endless liquidity of people.” I loved that. It put a handle on a love of mine, the way that humans in high traffic pedestrian areas move like liquid around obsitcals and each other. It inspired these paintings.
The last two, done on commission, incorporated family members of the patron, each doing activities that helps define them. I hope this gives you an idea because I’d love to paint more.
